KLTV and The African Descendants Forum are delighted to announce that the latest issue of our groundbreaking magazine ‘As One’ is now live.
Designed to inform, celebrate, and empower the African diaspora, this unique publication offers a fresh and innovative take on African descendants’ diverse culture, history, and achievements.
This issue of the As One Magazine is a special Black History Month Edition, featured around the theme of Protest. As One takes a look into the enduring legacy of resistance, resilience, and activism that has shaped the experiences and narratives of people of African descent globally.
Protest has long been a crucial means of voicing dissent and advocating for social change. From defiance against colonialism to the civil rights movements, the history of African diaspora communities is rich with stories of courageous individuals and groups standing against oppression. This edition honours those voices and examines ongoing struggles for justice, equality, and recognition.
Articles span various dimensions of protest, from grassroots activism to the role of art and culture in conveying resistance messages. The magazine underscores how music, literature, and visual arts have been powerful mediums for expressing dissent and inspiring change, reflecting the soul and spirit of the Black experience.
This edition also explores the intersectionality of protest, examining how issues of gender, class, and identity shape the experiences of those within the African diaspora.
As One Magazine is available digitally on the African Descendants Forum: https://kirkleeslocaltv.com/the-adf-as-one-magazine/
We hope this edition brings joy, pride, and a deeper appreciation for those who have fought and continue to strive for equality and equity for all. Thank you for joining us in celebrating this special edition.
