RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch is getting ready to unleash Shibden Dog Day, a fantastic community event celebrating everything we love about our dogs – while raising vital funds for the branch’s Really Big ReFURb project.
The event will take place at Shibden Park, Halifax on Saturday 3rd October 12pm and promises to be a brilliant day out for the whole family, whether you’re bringing your own pooch along or just simply love dogs.
There will be a 12-class fun dog show which is the perfect opportunity to give your dog their moment in the spotlight – and who knows, you might be taking home a Shibden Dog Day champion!
Stock up on tasty treats, toys, accessories and other doggy essentials from a varied choice of stalls on the day and pick up gifts and goodies for yourself too.
With plenty to see, buy and enjoy, visitors can spend the day soaking up the atmosphere, meeting fellow dog lovers and enjoying the surroundings in one of Calderdale’s much-loved parks.
While Shibden Dog Day is all about having fun, every pound raised will help RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch continue its Really Big ReFURb – the major transformation of its Wade Street Animal Centre in Halifax.
The Really Big ReFURb is creating a more modern, comfortable and enriching environment for animals in the branch’s care, helping give them the space and facilities they need while they wait for their forever homes.
The branch has nearly completed Phase One of the project, but fundraising continues to complete the final phase and deliver the full facility transformation.
By coming along to Shibden Dog Day, people will be helping to make a real difference to animals from across Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and the surrounding areas.
Lauren Moore, Fundraising Manager at RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch, said:
“Shibden Dog Day is going to a lovely day for the local community. We wanted to create an event where people can simply come along, have fun with their dogs, enjoy the atmosphere and get involved in our 12-class fun dog show.
“But behind all the fun, there’s a really important reason for holding the event. Every penny raised will help us continue our Really Big ReFURb and get us closer to completing the transformation of our animal centre.
“We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our appeal, and events like this are a fantastic way for the community to come together and help local animals at the same time.”
