The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford is inviting the public to take part in a unique fundraising experience as demolition begins on 10th September, it’s the charity’s biggest project yet: The Really Big ReFURB, a brand-new centre designed to give local cats, dogs, and small animals the loving futures they deserve.
For a donation of just £5, supporters can write down a worry, fear, or something they want to leave in the past, whether a personal challenge, a memory, or a cause close to their heart, (such as ending puppy farming or advocating for animal welfare) on the kennel walls.
On demolition day, these messages will be destroyed as the walls come down, and participants will receive a photo showing their worries reduced to rubble!
“This is more than just a fun and interactive fundraising campaign,” says Fay Gibbons, Digital Manager for the Charity. “It’s a chance for people to literally leave behind what’s holding them back while helping us create a brighter future for animals in need!”
Proceeds from the campaign will directly support The Really Big ReFURB, funding state-of-the-art facilities and care for local cats, dogs, and small animals.

The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch are a self-funding branch of the National RSPCA, responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work. This year the branch has rehomed over 300 animals. Our main aim is to rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We rely on public donations and the generosity of our local community to keep the doors of our animal centre open.
