Huddersfield Giants announces that First Bus has become an official partner to support its Academy team and greener goals of the club and the bus operator.

The First Bus logo features on the home and away shirts of the Academy squad and a specially- discounted ticket has been created to help fans travel to the John Smiths Stadium to see all Super League games.

They will work together to promote the sustainability ambitions of both organisations throughout the season.

Giants legend and club ambassador Eorl Crabtree of Huddersfield Giants said: “We’re so happy to have First Bus integrated in the Giants DNA. They not only help bring our fans together for all our games but also, they are helping develop the future of our club whilst also helping protect the future of the planet!”

Lucy Mottram, Marketing Manager for First Bus in West Yorkshire, said: “This cements our already strong links with the club, and we’re delighted to promote the development of its younger players and the club’s future as well as supporting greener options for fan travel.”

First Bus has a clear strategy to reduce emissions and create cleaner air in Towns and Cities. This is being achieved with introduction of 10 new buses in Huddersfield, last November, operating to the best ultra-low emissions standards and the retrofit of technology to the exhaust systems of the existing fleet to match this performance.

Lucy added: “This partnership builds on our shared goal of helping to reduce the carbon footprint of Rugby League fans.

“We’re ready to do more to connect local people to the club they love and will continue to be at the heart of the matchday experience with a great value ticket offer to help fans see the players in action.

“Taking the bus is not only a more sustainable way to travel it also helps to reduce congestion, which is a benefit to all road users.”
