Parsons Business For Good Programme backs Macmillan Cancer Support for 2023

Mar 1, 2023

This year, the fast-growing team at Yorkshire-based Parsons, Chartered Accountants has pushed its charitable efforts to the next level, by launching a brand new initiative. The Parsons Business for Good programme has seen the entire Parsons workforce invited to nominate and vote for a single charity to support throughout the year, with a calendar of activities coordinated by a dedicated committee.

The Parsons team nominated 14 worthy charities ranging from national and well-known names such as the Motor Neurone Disease Association, to local organisations including Wakefield Hospice and Read Easy Leeds. Winning a majority of the team vote, Macmillan Cancer Support is the Parsons Business For Good charity for 2023.

Payroll Manager, Sue Burbridge said: “Working for a company that supports charities is heartening. Knowing that they are sharing their success by helping others. I have personal experience with Macmillan, Parson’s charity of the year 2023. They provided invaluable support to my family with palliative and end of life care for my mum. We lost mum to Cancer in July 2022 and I can’t express how much we value the dedication, support and compassion that was shown during the hardest time of our lives. They are Angels in disguise.”

The Parsons Business For Good committee is already busy making plans and organising fundraisers which started with a guess the Parsons baby competition in February. This challenged the team to make a donation to Macmillan in return for an opportunity to take their chances at correctly identifying 19 colleagues from their baby pictures.

There are several ways in which you can help the team at Parsons to reach their fundraising goal. Visit www.parsons.co.uk/macmillan to find out more.
