Digital Marketeers Social Progress, leading experts in all things social media, are delighted to be supporting fairandfunky CIC at their annual ‘Fairtrade Conference for Primary Schools’ during Fairtrade Fortnight 2023, as official sponsors of the event.
The much anticipated conference, held at Tolson Museum in Huddersfield and hosted by sustainability educators fairandfunky CIC, will bring together primary school children from across the Kirklees and Calderdale areas to celebrate and learn about Fairtrade products and producers from across the globe. The award-winning social media company are keen to support the conference, and bring Fairtrade to the forefront of children’s learning with a bang!
Managing Director of Social Progress, Janet Bebb, said “Here at Social Progress we are always looking at additional ways to be a more sustainable and ethical business, and are proud to bring Fairtrade in to the day-to-day happenings within our offices – all of the hot drinks we enjoy as staff and serve to clients during meetings hold the Fairtrade mark, and we are active members of Holme Valley Fairtrade. We think that buying and using Fairtrade certified products is an easy way to make a difference to others. Supporting the fairandfunky Fairtrade Conference for Schools is just another way we can help spread the message of Fairtrade and celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight in a meaningful way!”
The conference will represent various themes including climate change, global learning and creativity, all the while linking with the very important messages of Fairtrade. The Fairtrade mark ensures that producers across the globe are paid a fair price for the work they do, with Fairtrade Fortnight 2023 focussing on encouraging consumers to make the small switch to Fairtrade, thus supporting producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.
Sophie Root, Director of fairandfunky CIC said “We are delighted to announce Social Progress as our official conference sponsor; they are a great example of how to take little steps on a daily basis, to have a huge impact on both people and planet, which is something fairandfunky shouts about in our work with schools – everyone has the power to change the world for the better, one small step at a time. We can’t wait to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight with Social Progress and over 100 school children at our Fairtrade conference later this month.”
Based in Holmfirth, fairandfunky CIC deliver workshops in schools and with community groups on key global themes such as recycling, Fairtrade and the environment, and have been doing so for almost 11 years, so are very much experts in their field.
The event, held on the 24th of February and in it’s 8th year, kickstarts Fairtrade Fortnight 2023 for the school children and the wider school community, and official conference sponsors Social Progress are keen to help fairandfunky CIC to make this conference the best yet.
