The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce has welcomed a new Patron for 2023, Theatre Royal Wakefield.
Theatre Royal Wakefield’s mission is to develop new creative opportunities and experiences in its central Wakefield theatre building, throughout the wider community and on tour, encouraging businesses to get involved with local arts projects.
Managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber, Martin Hathaway said: “As a Chamber we are thrilled to welcome Theatre Royal Wakefield to Patronage. The creative endeavours of the theatre will be well known to our members across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield, and will bring a new dynamic of creativity and artistic value to our patrons.
“As part of our new relationship, the Chamber will provide new opportunities for the theatre to connect with the regional business community and share its voice as a key cultural organisation in Wakefield.”
Sarah Shooter, head of development at Theatre Royal Wakefield, added: “Becoming a Patron of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber is a fantastic opportunity for Theatre Royal Wakefield. As a charity organisation invested in the growth and enjoyment of creative opportunities in Wakefield, working with the Chamber allows us to engage with the local business community so much closer than before.
“We’re excited to be able to promote the great opportunities we have for local businesses, including the chance to support work benefitting the wider community, as well as promoting themselves locally. The Chamber is central to the local business community, opening doors for us to new partnerships and opportunities. Alongside providing our own knowledge and skills for the Chamber, we knew straight away that becoming a Patron made total sense.”
Theatre Royal Wakefield joins hundreds of members of the Chamber in being represented across the Yorkshire area.
Other Chamber Patrons include Beanie Media, Eaton Smith Solicitors, Huddersfield Giants, John Smith’s Stadium Huddersfield, Leeds Beckett University, Rybrook Jaguar Land Rover, The Piece Hall and Wakefield Trinity.
