Chamber Business Awards 2022:  One+All crowned ‘Winner of Winners’

Dec 6, 2022

One+All, an employee-owned manufacturing firm based in Stockport, took home the ‘Winner of Winners’ award, supported by headline sponsor British Business Bank, at the British Chambers of Commerce’s annual Chamber Business Awards 2022.

The awards, now in its 19th year, is one of the showpieces of the business calendar, highlighting the role of firms in delivering growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities.

The judges praised One+All’s commitment to their local community through their fundraising work which has particularly benefited disadvantaged people from different backgrounds, as well as their support for their employees.

One+All is a certified B Corporation, and also won this year’s Community Champion award as part of the Chamber Business Awards in October.

The impact of the organisation, a member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, reaches far beyond their business of schoolwear manufacturing. With involvement in a dozen community projects, One+All is a strong force for good in their local area.

Sarah Howard MBE, Chair of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said:

“Employee-owned, One+All has gone above and beyond to support their staff, as well as the people of Stockport. As a small business, their sheer commitment to a wide range of staff and community projects is nothing short of inspiring and sets the bar high for other businesses to follow.

“This work includes training their staff to become domestic abuse champions, supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the local community, running a pilot training scheme for those with sight and hearing loss, as well as involvement in the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter as a founding member.

“Congratulations to the whole team – this work isn’t easy, but it is absolutely worthwhile and makes an incredible difference to the whole Stockport community.”

Shanika Amarasekara, Chief Impact Officer, British Business Bank said:

“This year’s Community Champion, One+All, has demonstrated it is a pillar of its local community in Greater Manchester, both through its work and the organisations it has financially supported.

“Examples of this work include raising £2,000 for domestic abuse charity OWLS, training 20% of One+All colleagues to be domestic abuse support champions, improving the employability of unemployed women through the Goodness Collective, and organising and funding the first ever Stockport sustainability summit which inspired local organisations to reduce their emissions and look at more sustainable ways of working.

“Reducing inequality and boosting economic prosperity across the UK’s nations and regions is an important objective for the British Business Bank, and we are delighted to sponsor this award and congratulate One+All as worthy winners.”
